Marie Sahy is a Swiss visual artist and graphic novelist based in Brighton, UK. She studied for a BA in Fine Art at the édhéa, in Sierre (CH). In 2022, she graduated with a MA in Fine Art from the University of Brighton, receiving a high distinction for her essay on How fiction fuels contemporary art? that took the form of a graphic novel. Having grown up in Switzerland, she was immersed in the Franco-Belgian culture of bande dessinée. Then, through more experimental graphic novels, she discovered a rich potential for expression. Often punctuated with humour and cynicism, her work addresses themes such as existentialism and feminism. She takes inspiration from her own personal life, creating scenes which allow her to comment on the world around her.
